Business Concept & Elevator Pitch Competition

ATTENTION: The BEC has expanded its efforts. We now have Three separate YEP competitions.
YEP Humboldt- For young people from Humboldt County. YEP Siskiyou– For young people from Modoc and Siskiyou Counties. YEP Shasta– For young people from Shasta, Trinity, Tehama, Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Del Norte, and Plumas Counties. YEP teams are determined by county of residence. When you register for the competition, you are automatically placed in the appropriate competition location.

PHASE I:
- Registration begins – must be 14 to 27 years of age at the time of the final competition, and a resident of Shasta, Trinity, Tehama, Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Humboldt, Del Norte, Modoc, Siskiyou, or Plumas Counties to enter. In addition full-time 14-27 year old students of HSU or are also eligible to enter this competition.
- Registration ends / Deadline for submission of business concept questions. Parent permission forms also due to Business & Entrepreneurship Center (BEC).
Phase II:
- Sixty- to ninety-second (60-90) video elevator pitch uploaded to Youtube and registered at the Business Concept & Elevator Pitch Competition website.
- Final six contestants (three from each age category) notified and invited to present their 3 to 5 minute innovative business concept at the YEP Business Fair & Competition. Six final contestants chosen for YEP Siskiyou and six finalists chosen for YEP Shasta.
Phase III:
- Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) Business Concept Competition. Final six present innovative business concept for chance to win money prizes. NOTE: Finalists must physically present their business concept in order to be eligible to win.
